A survey from the University of Texas on engagements and weddings ask engaged and newly married people to say what they considered was the ultimate display of being committed in their relationship and to their partner.
The interesting results above show that 36% of respondents believed that exchanging bling or any other type of jewellery was the ultimate display of commitment.
This may have to do with the fact that bling is highly visible and the meaning of an engagement or wedding ring in universally known.
While the social media status update “in a relationship” is well known, it only came in at 5% as a sign of the ultimate commitment.
