About Clinton Power
Relationship Therapist and Counsellor
Great relationships don't happen by accident—they're built through understanding, skill, and sometimes the right guidance.
I'm Clinton Power, a clinical relationship counsellor, psychotherapist, and couples therapist who helps individuals and couples create the loving, respectful connections they've always wanted.
For over 20 years, I've supported people in breaking free from painful relationship patterns to build relationships founded on trust, communication, and genuine intimacy. Whether you're working on your relationship with yourself or with your partner, I'm here to help you get unstuck and move forward.
My therapy approach
My approach to working with individuals and couples is grounded in evidence-based practices that have been proven effective through research. I use Feedback-Informed Treatment (FIT) to systematically track your progress and ensure that our work together is making a meaningful difference for you. Research shows that clients whose therapists use FIT are 2.5 times more likely to achieve positive outcomes.
When working with couples, I draw from a range of specialised approaches, including PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. These approaches help couples understand their relationship patterns, improve communication, and build stronger emotional connections by working with both the psychology and biology of relationships.
My clients typically see improvements in communication and connection within the first few sessions.

My path to relationship counselling
My journey to becoming a relationship counsellor began during my 20-year career as a professional classical musician, performing with world-class orchestras in Sydney and overseas. Dealing with performance anxiety sparked my interest in psychology and the mind-body connection, insights that now inform my therapeutic work.
I earned my postgraduate degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, specialising in Gestalt Therapy, and completed over 750 hours of face-to-face client work. My passion for relationship counselling developed during my time at Relationships Australia in Sydney, where I worked with a diverse range of couples and individuals facing relationship challenges.
This combination of artistic sensitivity, psychological training, and extensive experience in relationship-focused work enables me to help you navigate both the emotional and practical aspects of creating healthier relationships.
